How To Support Your Sick Kid Like a Boss

How To Support Your Sick Kid Like a Boss

The other night, Chuck’s older brother came for dinner. He recently retired from the military, and we hadn’t seen him in almost a year. We had just sat down to eat when I looked to the side and noticed my son bending over the kitchen trash can. It took me a couple seconds to realize he was getting sick. I quickly jumped up after my brain kicked into gear, and ran to him. While glancing into the living room where he had been lying down, I saw another “episode” all over one section of the couch. He was covered in everything he had eaten that day, so I rushed him straight up to the tub.

It’s awful to see your kids sick. In the past I have felt helpless to do anything that would actually help them. Not anymore. Ever since God opened the door for me into the world of essential oils and products, I feel empowered. There are several things I can DO to support my kids, and their sick bods now.

Last night, I got to wash Jase in our bathtub that has been cleaned with Thieves cleaner- which means he’s not sitting in a tub of water with chemicals or toxins from other cleaning products. Once he was all cleaned up, I got to put Thieves essential oils on his spine and feet so his immune system was supported. I did that again before he fell asleep. Pretty much every time I put oils on the kids, especially when they’re sick, I pray healing over them. It’s a very powerful experience.

Meanwhile the diffuser was going strong, pumping out Thieves EO into the air like a boss. This is a great support for the sick and for those who don’t want to get sick. Once he was settled with a bucket and a movie, Chuck and I got to cleaning up Jase’s clothes, the couch cushion, and pillow.  We had some upholstery cleaner, so we used that on the couch. That did not get the smell out. We tried it again, and let it sit for longer. Still no success. Chuck tried soap and water, but to no avail. Finally, we decided to strip the cover off, and throw it in the washer with Thieves detergent. Guys, that completely did the trick. The smell is gone! (Along with the chemicals from the cleaner we had tried to use, as well.) Unfortunately, the smell had soaked into the couch cushion as well, so we took the cushion outside and sprayed it with Thieves concentrate straight out of the bottle. We brought it back a few hours later and again, the smell was completely gone! We were seriously amazed.

Our final act of reinforcement was to diffuse a fresh batch of Thieves right next to Jase while he slept. It brings me a lot of peace knowing I can do tangible, practical acts to support my whole family during healthy times, and icky times. Especially as a person who can easily slip into worrying, Essential Oils provide me with something I can DO. I view EO’s and products as special God-created gifts. (They are mentioned over 1,000 times in Scripture, by the way. )

So now it’s your turn. What stories do you have about EO’s and their support? How have they supported your family? Please share in the comments! I absolutely love hearing from you all!
