Thriving in Your First 35 Days After Moving!

We’ve officially been living in our new State for 5 weeks now. In some ways it feels like a lot longer. In just 35 days, the Spirit has moved in such a way we feel like different people than when we arrived. My feet hit the ground of the farm we are living on that first day, and tears pooled in my eyes. Even though it was dreary outside, my soul was bright was hope. Bursting with anticipation. It was as if we literally drove out of the darkness of one State and into the light of another. The Light has remained over our heads ever since.

In 35 days we have…

~Joined a Love After Marriage (LAM) course (check out the powerful Bethel curriculum here) which includes meeting with a small group weekly. The LAM course kicked off with a TWELVE HOUR (yes, I said 12 hour!) intensive session. No children! At the end of our time, there will be a full blown weekend retreat, as well. No children! Through this we’re getting to know some incredible couples and have experienced the mighty work of God.

~Applied for countless jobs

~Watched my FAVORITE author-mentor Beth Moore via Simulcast with a dear friend
~Seen the Pediatrician 3 times and have received 5 vaccinations between the kids (plus 6 lollipops and about 37 stickers)
~Watched tractors plow the 45 acres of corn surrounding us, while the kids waved with so much excitement the farmer stopped to give them a ride

~Visited the second largest dairy farm in VA who feed their cows from our family’s very own corn fields
~Been invited to two birthday parties, several coffee dates/lunches/dinners, and even a banquet that supports the local crisis pregnancy center
~Hosted old friends and new for dinner

~Watched the first episode of season 2 of This Is Us!
~Dreamed dreams about buying the house we’ve been living in and then let go of those dreams almost as quickly as we realized God has something else for us
~Gone to the DMV twice and only ONE of us has their new license (the DMV makes me want to curse)
~Been to the ATT&T store THREE times, the last time for just under TWO hours WITH THE CHILDREN (more cursing)
~Changed our address twice, but have only moved once

~Shopped at Trader Joe’s- my happy place
~Had cousin sleep overs
~Celebrated our guy’s big 4th Birthday with cousins
~Spent hours outside
~Watched the sunset about 35 times

~Hosted Chuck’s Aunt and celebrated her birthday
~Attended a church event which gathered 4 different church bodies, multiple races, and multiple generations of believers (YES and AMEN!). We worshipped ONE JESUS TOGETHER and it was bliss.

~Had pedicures with my sister-in-law and didn’t have to say good-bye for the next several months
~Laughed and danced and worshipped and played as a family
~Rested

~Traveled to Lancaster where Chuck officiated his first wedding!

It’s been a really good 35 days.

My hope is that come November when we hit 70 days, Chuck will finally have a job, we will be well on our way to buying our OWN home, and will be able to SETTLE. I’d be so honored if you would pray that over us!
