Peach Pickin, Forgive Me

Peach Pickin, Forgive Me

I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. This past Tuesday was the first Tuesday I haven’t posted since the re-launch in November. I am disappointed in myself. Certainly if anyone raced to my blog last Tuesday they lived to see another day, even though I hadn’t posted. Yet, somehow this flaw for the first time in 10 months really BOTHERS me. I am bummed. It has helped me to realize I have too much going on….

Book Review: Little Bible Heroes Daniel & Miriam

Book Review: Little Bible Heroes Daniel & Miriam

The concept of books written for children about Hero’s from the Bible is excellent. I appreciate any resource that can be used to teach my children about the Bible. Author Victoria Kovac, and illustrator David Ryley created a book I believe best suited for elementary age children. While reading the Daniel book to my toddler-age son, I had to leave out a lot of the story. Since he’s so little, I don’t like to read stories to him that focus on bad…

Overcome Me!

Overcome Me!

Last night I was boiling fresh from a Pennsylvania farm corn on the cob. I had set the timer and then moved on with dinner prep, which also inevitably included breaking up a toddler WWE tournament. Sigh. Right in the middle of one of their matches, I heard this sound in the back of my mind. It took a couple moments for the sound to register in my brain as BOILING water BOILING over. Sizzling. Splashing. Lid rattling. Explosion ready to…

Paw Patrol Undies- and how they refreshed my soul.

Paw Patrol Undies- and how they refreshed my soul.

Last weekend, Chuck and I spontaneously decided to take the kids on a little getaway. We’ve had a long, emotional, and tiring summer so we needed some time together alone as a family. On Thursday afternoon we headed down to VA where Chuck’s family has a house. A long car ride with two toddlers is NEVER enjoyable, but we finally rolled into town and stopped at one of our favorite dives- Cook Out. It’s cheap, it’s yummy, it’s NUT free,…

Colors of Brokenness, by Penny Heilman

Colors of Brokenness Penny Heilman (Read more about Penny here.)       A fallen leaf before its time While others flourished green Torn and taken from the tree O spinning, spiraling me   Why did the others get to stay While I was called to wither And take my place here on the dust Where frightening creatures slither   The view was better from up high So clear and undisturbed But since I’ve settled to the ground My vision…

Jesus Is Love.

Jesus Is Love.

Heavy heart. What is next? So much fear. Are my loved ones safe? Who will be targeted next? And why? Why so much hate? Why? Hate comes from anger. Anger comes from hurt.   Jesus came for the hurt. Jesus came to bring peace. Jesus came to fight for His children. All people. All. God is Love.     For God so loved every person. Every. Person. He gave His one son. His only son, Jesus. To die for every…

One Mows, One Cooks

One Mows, One Cooks

The other night, Chuck and I rented a romance movie- it was my turn to pick. I assumed he would fall asleep, as per the norm, but he stayed wide awake. The movie ended up being painfully dumb. Very cheesy. Very unrealistic. But, it did get me thinking. There was a scene where the newlywed wife was sitting out on the front porch gazing at the ocean. Unbeknownst to her, the husband was standing in the doorway gazing longingly at her….

7 Years With You

7 Years With You

7 years ago, I met Chuck during the month of November, we started exclusively dating in December, and he proposed in February. The National Christmas Tree in DC, our first date. He surprised me over Christmas, visiting me at my parent’s house in North Eastern Pennsylvania. That was only one week after we had started dating! He also invited me to go on a trip to Virginia Beach with him and some of his siblings for New Years. After the Christmas…
