Easter 2020 Shenanigans
Hey all! How was your Easter? Our little crew had a fabulous day together. We ended up being able to Zoom with a lot of Chuck’s side of the fam (Did you know he’s 1 of 7 kids? I’ve never actually been with Chuck’s entire family at one time YET. Hopefully that will happen in the near future.), and my side. It’s a lot of fun to “see” everyone and have some form of connecting besides text.
The four of us ate a big brunch, and then had a nice supper in the evening. It’s the first time in almost 11 years Chuck and I have had our own (major) holiday together, just us. Plus the first time since having kids we’ve had our own family celebration, just the 4 of us. What a special blessing. The great thing about holiday cooking, even though it’s loads of work, is that you get to eat the best leftovers for several days. MMM! Good food and a break from cooking! A big update **I was able to snag a Kroger grocery pick-up order** for the end of this week. It was the very last slot of the week. Whew. HALLELUJAH! Plus they even waved the $5 fee. Sweeeeeet! I’m seriously so thankful, and so is Chuck.
Isn’t it so neat how God is providing for all of us in this season? We are especially grateful for the outpouring of friends and family as we prepare for Baby Girl’s arrival. We are *almost* starting from scratch since Basye was born over 5 years ago. We gave a lot of our baby gear, baby clothes, ehemm…baby junk to other people in need along the way. We’ve just never seen a need to hang on to stuff and drag it around from house to house every time we moved. (7 moves in 10 years.) When our shower had to be canceled, we knew God would provide, but it really blows me away how generous our tribe has been. I just expected since we’ve been out of sight, we’d be out of mind. But people have still seen us, and God reminds us often that we are SEEN by HIM. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL! I haven’t registered for a baby in about 7 years, and it’s so funny how much has changed in that time. The new way of registering is AHHHH-mazing! No more going to the store, or multiple stores, no more scanner guns, no more being limited to what the one store/s in your own town has to offer. A friend introduced me to https://www.babylist.com/ and it made figuring out what we need a BREEZE. I highly recommend. Plus they email every week reminding me how many weeks I am- trust me, I would forget on the regular. They shared in a recent email our baby is the size of a George Foreman Grill, haha!
Well, I should probably wrap up and finish our afternoon with some “school work” for the kids. For anyone interested in extra free resources (as if we need any more!) Signing off for now!
