Happy 5th Birthday Jase!
Five years old is a pretty big milestone. We’ve made it through the newborn, infancy, toddler, and pretty much the preschool phase. It makes me so happy to see what a thoughtful, encouraging, generous, kind, passionate, sweet, strong, and courageous boy you are. God has blessed you with the gifts of thoughtfulness, creativity, problem-solving, bravery, and loyalty. Your heart has a joy from the Lord- you giggle all the time and it feels like magic in my heart, every time I hear your laughter.
You have grown leaps and bounds these past five years. I have watched you attack your struggles head on, and conquer through the power of Jesus. I’m just so proud of you- for just exactly who you are. You represent healing in our family, just like your name means.
You love your little sister so well. Though you are not twins, we get asked a lot if you guys are. I think it’s because you two are constantly connected- either by hugging, wrestling, playing, laughing, or just plain being intertwined. You don’t like to do much unless Basye is there, too. You take such good care of her, and do a wonderful job of looking out for her. I’m so thankful Basye has you to grow up with. Last week when you two rode on the bumper cars, you gently put your hand on her back to guide her to the right seat. I just about melted to the floor. When you two were swimming in the ocean you said, “Hey Base! Your glasses!” You took them off her face, and ran them to the chairs so she wouldn’t lose them. We are so proud of you.
Papa and I adore you. We think you are the most remarkable, fascinating, fun, adventurous, hilarious, and wonderful boy we’ve ever known. You arrived in this world two weeks earlier than expected, which was a tell-tale sign of your passionate personality. You love life, love taking it all in, and love to experience everything you can. We love watching you explore and grow.
Happy 5th Birthday, my son. The Father’s Blessings all over you today and this whole year. You are loved beyond measure.
